Panel upgrade questions

What are the signs that an electrical panel needs replacing?

Fuse boxes, overheated breakers, double-tapped breakers, too few spaces and an undersized service are common signs. We inspect the existing equipment before recommending the work.

Will the power be off during a panel upgrade?

Yes. The power is off while we remove the old equipment and connect the new service or panel. We explain the sequence before the work starts.

Does the electric utility need to be involved?

Often, yes. Service upgrades and meter work can require utility coordination. We identify that work when we review the existing service.

Do I need a permit for a service or panel upgrade?

Permits come from your town. Use our service area pages to find your permit office, then confirm the requirements for your address.
