  • Portable generators
  • Whole-home standby generators
  • Automatic transfer switches
  • Generators in new home construction
  • Installation and annual service

We install and service Generac and Kohler generators

New construction is the easiest time to do it, because the generator is drawn in with everything else. An existing building is normal work too: call (603) 224-7474 and describe what you have.

Permits are set by your town. Our NH electrical permits guide explains how to check yours; in Hopkinton, a permit is required for “Expansion or changes to electrical, plumbing, mechanical or fire protection systems.”

Generator questions

What is the difference between a manual and an automatic standby generator?

A manual generator is started by a person when the power goes out, and the circuits you want to run are switched over by hand. An automatic standby generator sits permanently outside, senses the loss of power, starts itself and switches the selected circuits over without anyone present. We install both.

What generator brands do you install?

We install and service Generac and Kohler. That covers manual generators, automatic standby generators, generators for new home construction, and annual service and tune-ups. Call (603) 224-7474 to talk through a model.

What size generator do I need?

Sizing depends on what you want running during an outage and on how the house or building is fed, so it starts with a load list and a look at the equipment. Call (603) 224-7474 and we will work through it with you.

Do I need a permit for a generator?

Permits are set by your town, not by us. The Town of Hopkinton lists “Expansion or changes to electrical, plumbing, mechanical or fire protection systems” among the work that requires a permit, so a generator installation there is permit work. Confirm with your own town; our NH electrical permits guide explains how to check.
