EV charger questions
What does a Level 2 EV charger need electrically?
A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated circuit sized for the charger and the available electrical service. We check the panel and the planned charger location first.
Will I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?
Sometimes. We calculate the existing load and check the panel capacity. If the service or panel is too small, we discuss that work before installing the charger.
Should an EV charger be hardwired or plugged in?
That depends on the charger, its rating and where it will be installed. We install both types and follow the requirements for the equipment you choose.
Do I need a permit for an EV charger?
Permits come from your town. Check our service area pages for the local permit office. Our New Hampshire rebates guide covers current program links without quoting a rebate amount.
